LM723 Positive Regulator Connections: taken from National Semi- conductor's Linear Databook I
(1988, Rev. 1), page 1-189, Table I and Fig. 1, "Basic Low Voltage Regulator"; see our Fig. 10(j)
for values and placement of components on the PC36-1 test board.  The "6.04k" and "1.15k"
resistor values are nominal, and should be adjusted to set the output voltage precisely.  RSC is
optional, and C
ref
may be omitted or selected as necessary.
LM723 Negative Regulator Connections: taken from National Semi- conductor's Linear Databook I
(1988, Rev. 1), page 1-189, Table I, and page 1-190, Fig. 3, "Negative Voltage Regulator"; see our
Fig. 10(j) for values and placement of components on the PC36-1 test board.  R1 (3k) and R2 (2k)
should be adjusted to set the output voltage precisely.  QV1 is a pnp capable of handling 100 mA.

ADDITIONAL GUIDANCE
The PC36-1 test board is rather large for the reasons explained previously, and as a
consequence, proper decoupling of the power lines is important.  We have shown the decoupling
components explicitly in Fig. 10(i), and for the best results we suggest you use the same values at
the same locations that we indicate.  Please also note the following:
1.
For correct placement of the IC on the PC36-1 test board, the IC package should be oriented
so that the L17C*M* symbol on the package is on the top surface, and the orientation dot on the
bottom surface of the IC package is on the "C" side of the central square marked "L17C" on the
board.
